Artist Statement

Rowan is a performance artist, clown, puppeteer, and actor passionate about art that disturbs and art that comforts. She beleives in the power of devised, multi-media performance to bring communites togeather and provoke audiences to think critically and engage with the world arround them. 

Background

Rowan's upbringing in Boulder, Colorado, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, exposed her to an environment that celebrates scrappy, low-budget, experimental work. In her time at Boston University, she has honed her craft, focusing on physical theatre, directing two full-scale devised works, including an outdoor puppet circus inspired by the works of Bread and Puppet
